Pulp

Tembec makes two types of high-quality market pulp – high-yield hardwood pulp and northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp – at four Canadian operations. Tembec’s technical sales team works closely with customers worldwide to define needs, and we tailor grades to meet customer specifications.

Northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp

Used to make a broad range of quality paper products, Tembec’s premium grade NBSK pulp is a pure softwood pulp made primarily with virgin pine and spruce fiber from Canadian forests. Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certification assures you our fiber comes from responsible sources.

We tailor our NBSK grades from the Skookumchuck, BC operation to meet exacting customer specifications. Our NBSK pulp is elemental chlorine free and has unique brightness, bulk and strength characteristics suited to the production of:

  • Tissue and towelling
  • Papers (freesheet, mechanical grades, specialty grades)
  • Paperboard and linerboard
